At Medha, we go beyond the basics of ethical business practices and embrace our responsibility to the society. As a company that believes in technology and strives on innovation, we see the importance of helping the upcoming generation, who will be the backbone of the Indian society and responsible for growth and prosperity of the nation in the coming years. In 2007, Medha started Medha Charitable Trust, which focuses on uplifting underprivileged students and helps them in completing their education. Medha has pledged to fund the Trust with a percentage of its annual profits, which stood at around 20% over the last two years.
It has been the mission of Medha Charitable Trust to ensure that no young talent goes waste due to lack of resources. We’ve been able to tackle that by providing students with enabling infrastructure and facilities in the form of financial assistance, monitoring, guidance and encouragement. The scope of Medha Charitable Trust is to cover all the fields related to education, such as providing infrastructure to colleges, providing aid to students for their college fees, exam fees, books and college uniforms, and assisting the bright and needy in the form of merit based scholarships.
Currently, the primary focus of the Trust has been to help government run colleges and young students, who reside in rural districts surrounding Hyderabad, India. Since inception, Medha Charitable Trust has helped over 94,600 students in over 345 schools and colleges. A number of Medha’s employees stood behind this cause and helped in successfully meeting our yearly goals. Our employees travel to schools and colleges each year to personally distribute study material to all students. They spend a lot of time with the students in understanding their problems and bring back these problems for discussion to find solutions. Although Medha Charitable Trust is a recent establishment, we are pleased to have touched many lives in a short period of time and are excited about the future possibilities to help the upcoming generation. It is our hope that as Medha grows, we will be able to help more people.
